The Tigers won the opener 11-3, and rolled 21-11 in the nightcap, advancing to a home matchup with Dacula in the Sweet 16 next week. Dacula swept Camden County in the first round.
Alexis Evans was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs in Game 1, and Mia Johnson was 1-for-1 with a home run and three RBIs. Evans continued her huge night in Game 2, going 4-for-6 with a home run, five RBIs and four runs. Johnson didn’t get a chance to add to her totals in the nightcap — she was walked six times.
Jordyn Lewis, Lily Rodriguez and Addison Smith had a hit and RBI each in the opener, while Caylee Lawson, Gabby Morales, Cayleigh Curinton and Mariah Maze had a hit and scored a run each.
Cayleigh Curinton pitched five innings for the Game 1 win, scattering four hits and two earned runs.
In Game 2, six Tigers tallied at least three hits, including four each from Evans, Rodriguez (4-for-5, six RBIs) and Smith (4-for-6, home run, four RBIs). Lewis (3-for-6, four runs), Curinton (3-for-4, three RBIs) and Maze (3-for-4, three RBIs) also stood out.
