Archer sweeps South
SNELLVILLE — Archer stacked up 36 runs Wednesday in a 4-AAAAAA doubleheader sweep of South Gwinnett.
The Tigers won the opener 16-4 behind a 2-for-3 game with a home run and four RBIs from Mia Johnson, as well as double duty from Cayleigh Curinton, who was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Curinton also struck out five in two innings for the win, giving up one run on one hit.
Alexis Evans (2-for-4, two runs) and Caylee Lawson (2-for-2, two RBIs, three runs) joined in the attack.
In Game 2, Curinton drove in four more runs in a 1-for-1 night and scored two runs. Ashley Shumate was the winning pitcher, striking out three over three innings and giving up one run on three hits.
